Grants and accommodation aids

Lodging:

The organization will not take care of lodging! A short list of recommended facilities will be offered by the LOC at the website and the delegates are expected to make the appropriate reservations for themselves and at their own responsibility.

 

SEAC Grant:

Student travel grant for SEAC conference 2010
The executive committee of SEAC is pleased to announce a travel grant to enable a student to present the results of her/his research at the SEAC conference to be held at Gilching (Bavaria), Germany, 30 August - 5 September 2010.

Eligibility: the applicant either must be a postgraduate student working on a Masters or PhD degree with a subject on some aspect of astronomy in culture or must have completed such a degree no earlier than 2007. The applicant may be no older than 35. The grant may be shared by two or more authors of the same paper.
Amount: € 450, which will be presented upon registration at the conference.

Application requirements:
1) An extended abstract with bibliography of the paper to be presented (i.e. 1500 words not including the bibliography).
2) A curriculum vitae.
3) A reference from the applicant’s advisor.Applications should be sent by 1 April to Dr. Mary Blomberg, Norrtullsgatan 31, SE-113 27 Stockholm, Sweden. Email: mary@mikrob.com.

Accommodation Aids

Additionally we have organized some possibilities of free accommodation.

These aids will be preferably assigned to colleagues from the former Eastern Bloc, colleagues from developing countries or young postdocs and PhD students.

Application requirements: An extended abstract with bibliography of the paper to be presented (i.e. 1000 words iplus references).

Those wishing to get such an aid should send their abstract and the grant application form till March, 15th to the chairpersons of the SOC
